To me the level of functional or metabolic efficiency of a living organism. can be referred to as Health. In humans, it is the ability of individuals or communities to adapt and self-manage when facing physical, mental or social challenges. It is the inherent capabilities of the human race to cope with the agent of change that determines the healthiness of one individual. And it is also true that every individual has a different level of strength to fight with these agents of changes.

      We all know that the World Health Organization (WHO) is one of the premier organization which regulates, monitors and controls the world health scenario. So how WHO has put forward the definition of health, let’s see.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is defined as “A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease”. 

      From the definition one thing is clear that when a person is not suffering from any diseases or disorders cannot be called healthy until or unless one is fit physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. And we all know fitness can be defined as the quality of being suitable to perform a particular task.

Physical fitness is defined as a general state of health and well-being or more specifically as the ability to perform aspects of sports or occupations. It is a set of attributes or characteristics seen in people and which relate to the ability to perform a given set of physical activities. Before the industrial revolution, fitness was the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. However, with automation and changes in lifestyles physical fitness is now considered a measure of the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist hypokinetic diseases caused due to the sedentary lifestyle, and to meet emergency situations.

Mental fitness is defined as the psychological state of someone who is functioning at a satisfactory level of emotional and behavioural adjustment. A person can be regarded as a mentally fit when he enjoys life and create a balance between life activities and ability to properly adapt to stress and adversity.

Social fitness is defined as maintaining good and healthy relations with your surroundings. An individual having good relationships with family members, friends and neighbours are considered as socially fit. These people care about you and will be there for you as they give value to strengthening relationships and fostering universal brotherhood.

So we see if we can master all these aspects of fitness in our life we can achieve dynamic health. It also means living a yogic life having lots of strength and endurance, a sense of good feeling all the times, being positive, disciplined, smart, balanced, creative, broad-minded, loving humanity and searching the truth throughout one’s long and happy life.
